Understanding the Standard Model
نویسنده
چکیده
Freedom from Adler-Bell-Jackiw anomalies is a primary requirement for the renormalizability of a gauge theory of chiral fermions, which forms the basis of the successful standard model of electroweak interactions and its many extensions. In this article, we explore to what extent, the assumptions behind the standard model as well as the observed quantization of electric charges of quarks and leptons can be understood using the various anomaly constraints and how the situation changes as one tries to incorporate a nonvanishing neutrino mass . † Dedicated to the memory of Robert E. Marshak, to be published in the memorial volume by George Sudarshan.

The Stock Returns Volatility based on the GARCH (1,1) Model: The Superiority of the Truncated Standard Normal Distribution in Forecasting Volatility
I n this paper, we specify that the GARCH(1,1) model has strong forecasting volatility and its usage under the truncated standard normal distribution (TSND) is more suitable than when it is under the normal and student-t distributions. On the contrary, no comparison was tried between the forecasting performance of volatility of the daily return series using the multi-step ahead forec...
متن کاملEstimation of Core Inflation in Iran and Its Provinces Using Space State Model
The inflation rate, which measured using consumer price index, can be separated into a combination of two persistent and temporary components. This separating is particularly important in analyzing inflation rate and policies to control it. In fact, without knowing the persistent component of inflation, called core inflation, quantitative targeting of inflation may not be accurate. Core inflati...
متن کاملHypercentral Constituent Quark Model and Isospin for the Baryon Static Properties
So far the static properties of hadrons have been introduced in various models. The static properties of hadrons (charge radius, magnetic moment, etc.) are useful for understanding the quark structure of hadron. In this work we have introduced the hypercentral constituent quark and isospin dependent potentials. Here constituent quarks interact with each other via a potential in which we have ta...
متن کاملThe Effect of Soccer Ball Impulse on Lower Limbs of the Human Body
Despite the fact that soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world, little attention has been paid to this game scientifically which could otherwise provide a broad range of interesting outcomes. Sport equipment has a significant effect on how a game is played. Different features of the soccer ball such as its size, structure, weight and potential incoming pressure also affect the natu...
متن کاملAssessment of Turbulent Models in Computation of Strongly Curved Open Channel Flows
Several rigorous turbulent models have been developed in the past years and it can be seen that more research is needed to reach a better understanding of their generality and precision by verifying their applications for distinct hydraulic phenomena; under certain assumptions. This survey evaluates the performance of Standard k-ε, Realizable k-ε, RNG k-ε, k-ω and RSM models in predicting flow ...
متن کاملRainfall-runoff modelling using artificial neural networks (ANNs): modelling and understanding
In recent years, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have become one of the most promising tools in order to model complex hydrological processes such as the rainfall-runoff process. In many studies, ANNs have demonstrated superior results compared to alternative methods. ANNs are able to map underlying relationship between input and output data without prior understanding of the process under in...
